Baby. Tomorrow.

We're meeting our brand new baby tomorrow afternoon! I couldn't be more excited. The only complicated stitch is that due to the flu craze Mira will not be allowed to visit. I feel so sad that she is going to have to wait a few days to meet little miss gigi.

UPDATE: Oh Darn! The baby has had a hospital mandated delay. Our services were cancelled. In the meantime, I'm trying everything possible to hurry her along.

Press! Press!

If you've been reading, you may remember that I mentioned an upcoming publishing opportunity in Baltimore Magazine. Well, today my mail man delivered! In the form of the November 2009 issue, page 224.

Mary (at Typecast Press) designed the sweet apple prints and I embellished them with a twin-stitched border. They are featured twice. What you don't see are the tea towel napkins that I spent a whole day hand-embroidering little apple seeds on. Oh well! There's a tiny corner peeking through the middle of the page above, just to the left of the carafe of lemonade.

We're planning to get several done for the Winter Circus/Cirque D'Hiver trunk/craft show on December 6. Reserve some for your stocking stuffings!

I just love that Charm Stitch got a credit. What a fun opportunity!

Repeat Studio Fat Quarters are on their way!

Repeat Studio of Canada will be the newest addition to the Charm Stitch shop. Hoping for a bit more of a website within the coming weeks to allow for easy purchasing. In the meantime, please get in touch if you would like to arrange a local pick-up or delivery of something you see on the site.

These fat quarters are special because:
The whimsical designs are completely unique, by way of color choices and pattern. Repeat Studio hand prints their fabrics with water-based, solvent-free inks. The fabrics are either organic or eco friendly and are washable. Everyone should have at least two!

tropic of coats

Got an email from JCrew revealing these new jackets. Causing a bit of a stir on my browser. I love the yellow with buttons and buckles and can't stay away from a trench style, I wish I knew if some kind of amazing print lay hidden on the inside.

of pumpkin & apple seeds

This weekend we took a little jaunt down to Virginia's Crooked Run Orchard for some apple picking & pumpkin snatching. The weather was beautiful & the apples quite tasty. We picked up some braeburn & jonah gold varieties for pie making with our favorite neighborhood girls later this week. It was quite the hike to find the non red or golden delicious varieties but we made it! A few hours later I started to wonder if I was going into early labor when my lower belly and legs started cramping. I'm starting to notice these more severe cramps on a daily basis. I didn't have any of this when I was pregnant with Mira, so it's a feeling quite new to me but is probably just the more intense Braxton Hicks.

I have a big decision to make later this week... the baby is scheduled for delivery on the 19th but unfortunately the doctor is out of town till then so I won't be consulting directly with her. If I reschedule with someone else, it might not be till after the 22nd - which means a SCORPIO could be in our midst. Having had the not-so-pleasant experience before, I don't think I can live with a stinging scorpio (unless girls are different from boys??).  On the other hand, a fair Libra would offer lots of balance to the household. So you see, lots to think about!

Oh, Inventory!

I have it on good authority that these goodies are heading my way this week. I'm so excited for their arrival, particularly for the white on white Nani Iro fabric, which I have been waiting for almost all summer long (9 weeks!).

From Nani Iro.
